Linda heads the firm's litigation practice and has argued at trial in numerous mesothelioma and asbestos-related injury cases. Her leadership in landmark Indiana trials includes multi-million dollar Plaintiff verdicts in the first premises liability and first contractor liability cases for Indiana mesothelioma and asbestos-related cancer victims.
Her advocacy makes a difference in the lives of those who have been injured or victimized is simply unsurpassed. Linda's attention to detail and reputation for not leaving a stone unturned have paved the way for her clients to receive substantial compensation for their injuries. In her time away from the office, Linda enjoys the company of her beloved grandchildren, friends and family, and her cats. She loves music, the arts, and traveling.
Kathy Farinas, Partner, known simply as "Kathy", has been a
member of the Indiana Bar since 1997. After practicing employment and civil rights litigation in the Indianapolis area, she began working with Linda George in the Fall of 2000.
Growing up in the heartland of Indiana, Kathy was instilled at a young age with a strong work ethic, a sense of loyalty, devotion, and undying commitment to the compelling causes she undertakes. Kathy is driven to make a difference in the lives of those who have been injured or victimized. Her advocacy for social change, equality and justice has greatly impacted the lives of those she has and continues to represent.
Kathy is actively involved in all phases of asbestos and catastrophic personal injury litigation including client outreach, liability discovery, case-work-up, mediation, trial preparation, and trial. Choosing to pursue a career in the legal arena over a medical career, she now ironically works closely with medical experts involved in the field of asbestos disease and injury to assure the highest quality treatment opportunities for our clients.
Kathy has actively participated in the litigation and trials of numerous mesothelioma and asbestos-related injury cases which resulted in significant recoveries for the injured and their families. In addition to litigating asbestos personal injury actions, Kathy has served as counsel in numerous catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, pharmaceutical and toxic tort cases. Her attention to detail and ability to gather and prepare evidence for the trial have served her clients and colleagues well no matter the legal issue involved.
Kathy presently lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Michael. Married since 2004, Kathy and Michael enjoy time together, outdoor activities, home renovation, and traveling.
Todd Barnes, Associate Attorney, was a near lifelong resident of
Michigan, and spent five years
practicing law at Bowerman,
Bowden and Moothart in Traverse City, Michigan. There Todd focused his practice on business litigation and real estate law. Although he was offered the opportunity to become a shareholder with the firm, Todd instead chose to come to Indianapolis to be with his fiancee, Grace and her two children, Alexandra and Jacob. Todd and Grace were married in 2006. Their daughter, Erin, was born on December 14, 2007.
Since joining the firm, Todd has worked on numerous asbestos and other occupational disease cases, as well as other complex litigation matters. Todd is also involved with most of the firm's workers compensation cases. He firmly believes that it is his job not just to know and argue the law, but to help and counsel injured clients and their families during some of the most difficult and trying times of their lives.
Ashleigh Resetarits, Associate Attorney, a native of Buffalo, New York
joined the firm in June 2009, after earning her Juris Doctorate from
Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis.
Ashleigh has worked in all aspects of the firm’s asbestos and catastrophic personal injury litigation, including client communication, case-work up, and trial preparation. She is also involved with overseeing all Estates, and actively assists clients with subrogation issues, often dealing with Medicare, Medicaid and various insurance companies. She is also passionate about promoting George & Farinas' presence on the Web, taking a large role in the publication of the newsletter and website.
Before law school, Ashleigh attended the University of Kansas, and earned a Masters of Arts in 2005 in Communication Studies, and her Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University in 2003 with a dual degree in Communication and Rhetorical Studies and Spanish. During law school she clerked for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Major Felony division. Ashleigh is also been actively involved in the American Society of Trial Consultants.
Ashleigh strives to lead a life where she can be of service to others. She finds working with George & Farinas' clients and their families a truly rewarding experience. In her spare time, she can be found spending time with her close-knit family and friends in downtown Indianapolis or rooting on her favorite sports teams.
