Labor Day

This weekend we as Americans celebrated Labor Day, a federal holiday designated as a day to celebrate the economic and social contributions of workers here in Indiana, and around the country. Unfortunately, despite their tireless efforts, many American workers and their families endured unnecessary health risks from exposure to asbestos on the jobsites where they worked. Most at-risk for developing asbestos related diseases such as Mesothelioma or asbestos related lung cancer are trade workers such as insulators, plumbers and pipefitters, electricians, sheet metal workers, auto mechanics, refinery and factory workers, construction workers and shipyard workers
Saturday, George & Farinas supported Indiana’s labor force by visiting “Labor Fest” on Georgia Street in downtown Indianapolis. Many of these trade workers were represented there by their local unions. Even one of the youngest members of the George & Farinas family, Erin Barnes, showed her appreciation for Hoosier workers!
